A Brief Poetic Circle

What care and devotion
In such a small space
That thought and emotion
The writer must place
Pastoral scenes
Drawn in our minds
By modest means
Of three short lines.
From Edo's lords
To children in school
The haiku affords
A poetic tool.
  Count the syllables, too:
  Five, seven, and five will do.

  十四行詩
人間意識する
  ソネットだ。

Of course, the first poem refers to "haiku", and the second is (I think) technically a tanka (and more technically, kami no ku), but close enough for a blogger.

確かに、上のソネットは「俳句」と言って、下の詩は短歌(上の句)である。しかし、ブログだったら、大丈夫じゃないだろうか。
